Landing spot analysis is a major component of post-draft coverage and is increasingly prominent during mock draft season. Analysts evaluate not just whether a team is taking the right player, but whether that team's situation gives the player the best chance to develop and contribute. A first-round quarterback who lands behind a poor offensive line in a dysfunctional organization is a worse landing spot than a third-round quarterback who joins an established contender with a proven system.
